Transparency

This means every euro you donate goes entirely to our mission-related work, with only 8% allocated to essential administrative functions.
Program Spending Detail
Heritage Property Stewardship (30%)
Funds are allocated to emergency repairs on at-risk heritage properties, professional assessments by qualified architects and historians, documentation and database maintenance, and the organization of public heritage walks and educational tours. In the past year, this program contributed to the restoration of seven heritage properties and documented twelve additional buildings for the first time.
Community Grants & Philanthropy (35%)
The largest portion of our spending goes directly to community organizations through our structured grants program. Funds support youth education initiatives, social welfare programs for vulnerable populations, cultural events and festivals, and environmental conservation projects. Our grant review committee ensures that every euro is allocated to high-impact, well-managed community projects.
Environmental Sustainability (15%)
This portion funds coastal dune restoration using native plant species, installation and maintenance of solar panels on community buildings, organization of annual beach cleanup events, and environmental education programs in local schools. All projects are developed in partnership with the Flemish Nature Agency and local environmental organizations to ensure scientific validity and long-term sustainability.
Cultural Education & Awareness (12%)
Funds support the development of educational materials for schools, organization of monthly heritage walks, speaker fees for guest lectures and workshops, and the annual Cultural Heritage Festival. All programs are offered free of charge or at minimal cost to ensure accessibility for all community members regardless of their financial situation.
Impact Stories
Real examples of how your donations make a difference in our community.
Heritage Restoration: Villa Zonneschijn
In 2023, a 1920s Art Deco villa in Knokke-Heist was facing demolition. Through our Heritage Stewardship program, we funded a comprehensive assessment, connected the owner with preservation architects, and provided emergency funding for structural repairs. The villa has been fully restored and now serves as a bed and breakfast, preserving its architectural character while remaining economically viable.
Community Grant: Youth Arts Program
Our Community Grants program provided EUR 15,000 to a local youth arts organization over three years. This funding supported free after-school arts workshops for children from low-income families, reaching over 120 young people. The program has been credited with improving school attendance and self-confidence among participants, and many have gone on to pursue further education in the arts.
Environmental: Dune Restoration
Our Environmental Sustainability program funded the restoration of 500 meters of coastal dunes near Knokke-Heist using native marram grass and other stabilizing species. Within two years, the restored dunes showed significant improvement in biodiversity, with a 40% increase in native plant species and the return of several bird species that had been absent from the area for decades.
